4 Ways (including Zumba) to Get Healthy Skin

Getting and maintaining healthy skin these days is becoming difficult. Ever wonder why? It surely has something to do with the foods you eat, the products you use or apply, and even the weather. Are you comfortable with your skin right now? If you have glowing and healthy skin, then consider yourself lucky. Ever wonder what cosmetic procedures may help you achieve it? In this blog, you will learn what to do to get that natural shine without resorting to any cosmetic procedures.

Achieving that healthy, natural, glowing skin for a longer term also needs focus and determination.

Up your water-intake. This may sound so cliché, but this really helps you get healthy skin. Nothing is more important to the skin than regular hydration. Our body’s natural detoxification needs water as a vehicle to get rid of toxins. Remember, toxins shouldn’t have a place anywhere in your body most importantly in your skin. So be sure to keep hydrated. Take a bottle of water with you wherever you go and sip consistently all throughout the day.

Apply sunscreen. Get rid of wrinkles by applying sunscreen. Frequent exposure to the sun creates lots of wrinkles and makes the skin look uneven, especially without sunscreen. It’s important that you choose a sunscreen that gives complete protection from the sun’s harmful rays such as UVB and UVA. Also, make sure to look for one with 30 SPF. However, make sure to reapply sunscreen every few hours especially when you’re outside as it doesn’t last all day.

Cope with stress. Coping with stress nowadays can be difficult. So always take time to exercise no matter how hectic your schedule can be. There are a lot of exercises you can find online that are ideal for whatever lifestyle you have. Try a Zumba Fitness class! It’s a lot of fun and you will sweat for sure! With its simple moves, emphasis on beats and rhythm, and numerous health benefits, it’s not surprising that you too will fall in love with Zumba! What really matters is that you are sweating and getting rid of toxins.

Eat right and healthy. Avoid processed foods which are commonly full of preservatives, sugar, salt, etc. Rather, focus on natural foods and fruits that contain more water and minerals to help your body function at its best. Consuming nutritious foods like tomatoes, broccoli, and blueberries help your body sustain the energy you need throughout the day. They’re also great at collagen production which is great for skin in firming and detoxifying it.

Improve your Quality of Life with Zumba

“There are shortcuts to happiness and dancing is one of them.”- Vicki Baum

Dancing is indeed a universal human experience. Dancing is one of the things that keeps me alive. I dance to express my emotions and celebrate life, to keep my body fit and permit myself to smile. But I love dancing even more because it improves my self-esteem and reduce my day-to-day stress.
Moreover, dance workout has improved my coordination and sense of rhythm. Dancing may exceed those other forms of exercise as it has proven to benefit us both mentally and physically. Not many other exercise can boast the same benefits. The American Cancer Society says that dance can be an effective form of therapy.
One form of workout dance is Zumba.  Based from my experience and from that of my friends, I can prove that there’s nothing better than choosing Zumba as a part of my day.  I haven’t met someone who went home feeling disappointed or regretful after participating in a Zumba class. Because I tell you, it feels more like a party than a workout!
Don’t be surprised why people are so enthusiastic about Zumba. There are lots of reasons behind it but I am confident that all Zumba participants can attest to it. Dancing Zumba allowed me to feel amazing both inside and out. It is simply effective and beyond amazing.
Zumbais for everyone who loves to move to music, regardless of gender, age, or fitness level because it uses upbeat Latin dance steps. Even if you’re feeling a little shy or your feet a little rusty—there still are ways you can enjoy Zumba. Connect to your own body, to music, and to other people in the class. Gather a few dozen friends and enjoy the party.

Boost your Self-Confidence with ZUMBA

Have you ever noticed that every time we move our body well, our confidence and energy quickly soar? I can attest that many workouts can help add a person’s confidence.  Since the benefits incorporated in it such as losing weight and feeling better are additional factors in boosting our self-esteem.  However, Zumba dancing for me is incomparable with the other kinds of workout.  Zumba increases my confidence day by day.  As you might have noticed, I know a few things about Zumba, but you may haven’t thought of me as someone who is not comfortable with the entire idea of entering into a crowded room and dancing in front of people.

I can still clearly recall my first experience of joining a Zumba class.  I was feeling a little bit nervous and self-conscious during that time. I felt like I was not entirely sure of what I was doing, and I didn’t know what the moves were or how to follow along. However, I have found myself even before I’ve realized, smiling and sweating all throughout the class.

A lot of people experience a lot of fun in Zumba fitness classes, and it is also important to know that Zumba classes are also a great interval training workout.  Dancing Zumba regularly is a great way to burn calories and improve one’s fitness level, but also to make friends and have fun. What I wasn’t informed of was how much level of confidence I would gain once I became more comfortable with letting myself move without holding myself back in fear of “embarrassing myself”.  I am thankful to realize that most people didn’t care how many times you mess up. The only person who really cared was me.

Get Rid of Stress with Zumba Fitness

Causes of Stress

Stress…most of people experience it on a daily basis, whether it’s all because of that endless to do list, a friend or co-worker that’s driving you insane, or that upcoming presentation you have to do successfully. Cortisol, also known as the stress hormone is produced by the adrenal glands. Cortisol in small amounts is good for you as it boosts energy, regulates blood pressure, and can increase memory functions. Too much of it however, leads to high blood pressure, impaired cognitive performance, increased abdominal fat, etc. Perhaps you’ve tried stress management techniques before but with a little success. Apparently, those breathing exercises and meditation didn’t work for you. Well that’s what Zumba fitness is made for!

Stress relief with Zumba

Zumba is now one of the most popular and effective programs for fitness and weight loss. But it’s more than that, Zumba benefits not just your body but also your mind, and is considered to be an excellent alternative stress reliever. Through movement, dance therapy has proven to be effective in helping individuals with a wide range of psychological disorders achieve greater self-expression. It dramatically decreases the levels of stress you experience in your day to day life if done regularly.
Be energized, relax your body and mind, and let your mind drift away from all of the negative energy. Find yourself more relaxed and happier as it makes you stronger and more confident to deal with stress of your everyday life.

Zumba | Do’s and Don’ts

Stepping into a Latin-dance-inspired Zumba class for the very first time? Here are some basic Do’s and Don’ts for Zumba classes.

    Do’s

•Bring a towel and full water bottle. You’ll sweat a lot, re-hydrating throughout the class is crucial.
•Wear something that is breathable and moveable. Choose pants, t-shirts or tank tops, and sneakers with low tread that allow you to pivot your feet easily.

• Keep moving even if you can’t follow some of the steps, just keep moving! Ask a fellow Zumba dancer if there is a particular move you can’t get. I’m sure there’s someone who will be happy to help.

• Consult with a doctor. People who are on medication for heart-related or asthma issues are advised to do so.

• Feel the music and have fun at all times! Try to cut loose and let your body move.

• Attend the class as often as you can. You will find your fitness level increase the more you go! You will definitely catch on to the moves and you’ll soon be an expert.

•Bring some friends or co-workers if you have trouble staying motivated to stick with an exercise routine.

• Be patient to learn the routines.

• Imagine that you’re in a music video. It gives you some attitude.

• Indicate to the instructor immediately if you feel dizziness or shortness of breath in class.

    Don’ts

• Give up! Giving up is not even an option. Come to class regularly. Trust me, the more you come, the easier the moves get and the better your fitness level gets!

• Feel like you have to keep up with the instructor. Don’t expect to pick up all the moves during the first, second or even third class.

• Eat a lot after a class especially if you’re trying to lose weight.

• Be self-conscious. Remind yourself, no one is looking at you -they are looking at the instructor.

• Forget to smile.

• Worry about messing up! It doesn’t matter if you do! Most of us do it all the time.

• Expect that every Zumba class or instructor have the same teaching styles. Look around to find one that suits you best.
• Come to class if you don’t feel well.

Remember, Zumba Fitness party is created for everyone! All shapes and sizes, ages, and fitness levels are welcome! Come to class with an open mind and be ready to shake that booty.
