Cortisol, also known as the stress hormone is produced by the adrenal glands. Cortisol in small amounts is good for you as it boosts energy, regulates blood pressure, and can increase memory functions. Too much of it however, leads to high blood pressure, impaired cognitive performance, increased abdominal fat, etc. Perhaps you’ve tried stress management techniques before but with a little success.
