6 TIPS FOR AN AWESOME ZUMBA CLASS – MyZumbaBody.com

Love Zumba? Of course you do! It has gained so much popularity that you can find a class at most gyms. Whether you’ve been at the Zumba party for years or you’ve just started, these six tips will help make the most of your Zumba workout!

Love Zumba? Of course you do! It has gained so much popularity that you can find a class at most gyms. Whether you’ve been at the Zumba party for years or you’ve just started, these six tips will help make the most of your Zumba workout!

  • Choose the right gear:- Your comfort and safety should come first. Do not choose a shoe based on its cuteness factor, but opt for the ones you need. If dance-fitness is your thing, make sure to invest in a stability shoe. Zumba includes a lot of lateral movements that’s why you will need to wear shoes that support that. Pick a shoe with low tread for easier sliding and pivoting. Women should invest in a good quality sports bra while men should consider athletic support. Doing this might save you from awkward or painful mishaps in the future.

  • Let Loose:-  Zumba is hard to do if you’re stiff or self-conscious! Burning more calories can be best achieved if you let yourself have fun and de-stress. Express yourself. Dance like no one is watching- just lose yourself in the invigorating music and fun moves. Let go. Forget the stress you’ve accumulated the whole day and enjoy this special “me time.” Just do everything naturally and laugh a little more. Try not to mind anything about work for now. Leave your phone in your bag, if possible, so you can fully engage.

  • Stretch it out:- Stretching is vital after any workout as it reduce next day soreness and increase flexibility. An additional 5-10 minutes stretch before and after your class can help decrease the risk of injury.

  • Hydrate:- Drink plenty of water. It’s important to hydrate before, after and during a workout as it regulates your body temperature and lubricates your joints. Zumba is an intense cardio workout so you should expect a lot of sweating going on. You might experience dizziness if you don’t have adequate water in your body.

  • Bring a friend:- Sometimes people who are newer to the experience may be a little shy. If you feel intimidated going alone to attend your first Zumba class, consider tugging a friend or a co-worker to get in on the fitness action. A Zumba class is also a great place to make new friends- enhance your Zumba experience by getting to know the people in your class. Offer to teach them with any of the steps after class. Make the whole experience memorable by sharing your passion for Zumba.

  • Don’t overdo it:- Find a schedule that works for you and stick to it. Be sure to keep in mind that your body needs to rest. Muscles need time for recovery, so make sure you aren’t overdoing it. Listen to your body. Consider visiting your doctor for a check-up before starting this intense cardio workout. Also, don’t forget to tell the instructor if you have any medical problems they should be aware of (especially heart problems).

Causes of Stress

Stress…most of people experience it on a daily basis, whether it’s all because of that endless to do list, a friend or co-worker that’s driving you insane, or that upcoming presentation you have to do successfully. Cortisol, also known as the stress hormone is produced by the adrenal glands. Cortisol in small amounts is good for you as it boosts energy, regulates blood pressure, and can increase memory functions. Too much of it however, leads to high blood pressure, impaired cognitive performance, increased abdominal fat, etc. Perhaps you’ve tried stress management techniques before but with a little success. Apparently, those breathing exercises and meditation didn’t work for you. Well that’s what Zumba fitness is made for!

Stress relief with Zumba

Zumba is now one of the most popular and effective programs for fitness and weight loss. But it’s more than that, Zumba benefits not just your body but also your mind, and is considered to be an excellent alternative stress reliever. Through movement, dance therapy has proven to be effective in helping individuals with a wide range of psychological disorders achieve greater self-expression. It dramatically decreases the levels of stress you experience in your day to day life if done regularly.
Be energized, relax your body and mind, and let your mind drift away from all of the negative energy. Find yourself more relaxed and happier as it makes you stronger and more confident to deal with stress of your everyday life.

Dance your worries away with Zumba Fitness!

Remember
You don’t have to be a dance expert to enjoy and benefit from this exercise. The movements may seem complicated at first, but they are actually very simple, and comprehensible once the music takes control. Zumba fitness is designed to guarantee fun and freedom in every movement.
Lose yourself in the music. “Ditch the workout, join the party!”

Dancing is indeed a universal human experience. Dancing is one of the things that keeps me alive. I dance to express my emotions and celebrate life, to keep my body fit and permit myself to smile. But I love dancing even more because it improves my self-esteem and reduce my day-to-day stress.
Moreover, dance workout has improved my coordination and sense of rhythm. Dancing may exceed those other forms of exercise as it has proven to benefit us both mentally and physically. Not many other exercise can boast the same benefits. The American Cancer Society says that dance can be an effective form of therapy.
One form of workout dance is Zumba.  Based from my experience and from that of my friends, I can prove that there’s nothing better than choosing Zumba as a part of my day.  I haven’t met someone who went home feeling disappointed or regretful after participating in a Zumba class. Because I tell you, it feels more like a party than a workout!
Don’t be surprised why people are so enthusiastic about Zumba. There are lots of reasons behind it but I am confident that all Zumba participants can attest to it. Dancing Zumba allowed me to feel amazing both inside and out. It is simply effective and beyond amazing.
Zumbais for everyone who loves to move to music, regardless of gender, age, or fitness level because it uses upbeat Latin dance steps. Even if you’re feeling a little shy or your feet a little rusty—there still are ways you can enjoy Zumba. Connect to your own body, to music, and to other people in the class. Gather a few dozen friends and enjoy the party.

Zumba is a dance-based fitness program created by Beto Perez which helps people lose weight by lifting moods, improving physical fitness as well as the general well- being of its participants.
